Pekin Wrestler Hunter Beasley Returns To The Mat After Spinal Stroke

Bookmark and Share

Pekin wrestling coach John Jacobs took to Facebook to highlight a special moment for the Dragons program that occurred on January 5, 2018. Aided by a crutch and unbelievable determination, senior Hunter Beasley made his senior season debut. Hunter pushed his opponent to the third period, before ultimately, losing the match, but Jacobs and the Pekin team celebrated the moment. As a freshman, Hunter had suffered a spinal stroke in his sleep and caused him to lose the use of his legs. Despite countless hours of therapy and rehab, he managed to attend every team practice last season as a junior, winning the team's Ironman Award.
