Decatur Broadcaster Aric Lee Calls 1000th Career Game

Aric Lee, a long-time staple on the Decatur sports scene, celebrated a milestone broadcast on January 23, 2024.

Perched atop the stage in the St. Teresa High School gym in Decatur, Lee hit the radio airwaves for the 1000th time in his career to call a contest, as the Bulldogs hosted fellow Decatur school, Eisenhower High School.

Lee was honored during the game with a plaque, before returning to deliver the action to listeners on WSOY 1340 AM.

The IHSA would like to congratulate Aric on this amazing accomplishment, and thank him for his commitment to high school sports, as well as for the coverage that has benefitted countless student-athletes, coaches, and fans through the years.
