Drone Stadium Tour: St. Joseph-Ogden’s Spartan Field

Under long-time head coach Dick Duvall, St. Joseph-Ogden High School’s football program has grown into a perennial state power. The team qualified for the IHSA state playoffs in 2015 for the 25th consecutive season and has five runner-up finishes since 1989. It is clear from the drone footage below that the school and community take great pride in the appearance of their home field, Spartan Field, located on the high school campus in St. Joseph. The meticulous paint job comes via a dedicated “field crew” made up of volunteer parents who, with the financial support of some local businesses paying for the paint, have the creativity and enthusiasm to paint the field each week. The drone footage was shot following a varsity contest, but the field still manages to look pristine after the wear-and-tear of a game on a damp field after a week of rain.
