Illinois Journalism Education Association Announces 2016 Award Winners

As a part of the 2016 IHSA Journalism State Finals on the Eastern Illinois University campus in Charleston on April 29, 2016, the Illinois Journalism Education Association (IJEA) held its annual advisers breakfast and awards program.

IJEA President Sarah Doerner led the program, which recognized the 2016 IJEA All-State Team, the Illinois Journalist of the Year, the Inspiration Award winner, and concluded with an acceptance speech from Harrisburg High School adviser Cathy Wall (above with retired Coulterville High School adviser Herman Albers, who presented her with the award), the 2016 recipient of the prestigious James A. Tidwell Award for Excellence in Scholastic Media Education.
