Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Executive Director Craig Anderson has announced changes in IHSA staff responsibilities entering the 2022-23 school year following the addition of Dan Le as the IHSA’s newest Assistant Executive Director.

Le, whose hiring was approved by the IHSA Board at their meeting in June of 2022 and officially joined the staff in early July, will oversee a variety of sports, activities, and responsibilities. A former high school tennis player and coach, Le will administer Boys & Girls Tennis, Chess, and Esports. He will also oversee the Three-point Showdown, Student Advisory Committee, Do What’s Sportsmanship Committee, Unified Basketball, and the selection of national anthem singers and pep bands at IHSA State Finals.

IHSA Associate Executive Director Kurt Gibson will take over the reins of the IHSA Officials Department and Officials Education efforts, while IHSA Assistant Executive Director Tracie Henry will fill a liaison role for the Illinois High School Association Foundation.

IHSA Assistant Executive Director Susie Knoblauch will administer IHSA Boys and Girls Lacrosse moving forward. Knoblauch previously served as the national lacrosse administrator during her time on the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) staff.

“The addition of Dan Le to the IHSA team has provided us additional flexibility with our staff and the ability to optimize some past staff experiences with the sports they will administer,” said Anderson. “Our team members are incredibly talented and dedicated in their service of our member schools. I am confident that these individuals will all excel in their new responsibilities and provide even better experiences for the student-athletes, coaches, school administrators, and officials they serve.”
