Winning Coach – Tim Ervin, Chicago (Providence-St. Mel)
I thought my guys were ready at the start of the game, we weren't necessarily flat, but I think it was nerves or Judas' Star. In the second half, although we were down one point, we still felt like we have a second half to turn things around. For the whole season we've been a better second-half team.
These guys were focused, so we knew we only had to keep up the pressure and wear rthem down, they would start giving the ball up and we would start converting those turnovers into points, and that's what we did. I was really impressed with the guys with the way they played defense in the second half.
Losing Coach – Mike Lewis, Concord (Triopia)
The second half, they came out and pressured us and got in a little full-court press, (we) got in a hurry. They started hitting their shots and we just got frustrated. We made some bad passes, we ended up with 22 turnovers; we haven't made that many turnovers the whole year. They had something to do with that, they forced us to do things we didn't want to do.
We wanted to play at our pace, they sped us up and then they got a couple tunrovers and it was over.
They shot extremely well. They made some 3s, they got some put-backs and just took us out of it. Then we got in a hurry and when we got in a hurry, we played their game and it was over.
The first half was terrific, we had them playing our game. The second half just kind of reversed itself.
