The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Board of Directors met for their regularly scheduled meeting at the IHSA Boys Basketball State Finals in Peoria on Saturday, March 17, 2012. There were no action items at the meeting, but a list of Action Items and Eligibility Rulings from the meeting are listed below.
ACTION ITEM
1. The Board approved the Association’s participation in the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) 93rd Annual Summer Meeting, which will be held in Nashville, Tennessee on July 7-11, 2012. The NFHS annually holds a conference focusing on professional development for state association personnel and board members.
ELIGIBILITY RULINGS
1. The Board sustained the Executive Director’s ruling on a student from Carpentersville (Dundee-Crown). The student was ruled ineligible for non-compliance with IHSA By-law 3.030.
2. The Board sustained the Executive Director’s ruling on a student from Lombard (Montini). The student was ruled ineligible for non-compliance with IHSA By-law 3.040 and its sub-sections.
3. The Board sustained the Executive Director’s ruling on a student from Waterloo (Gibault). The student was ruled ineligible for non-compliance with IHSA By-law 3.040 and its sub-sections.
4. The ruling on a student from Waterloo (Gibault) was referred back to the Executive Director by the Board until more information can be made available. The student was ruled ineligible for non-compliance with IHSA By-law 3.040 and its sub-sections.
