Fairview Heights native George Hass is not only a veteran IHSA official with over 35 years of experience, he is also a United States military veteran. George served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1960, serving as an aircraft mechanic and training Naval cadets out of Pensacola flight school.

George recently sent the IHSA the photo below from an IESA Volleyball match he was officiating this year proudly displaying the new IHSA Military Veterans Patch on his uniform.

George went on to say, “I am proud of my country and I am proud to wear this patch.”
