McHenry 25  24  24
Tonight's Regional Championship match is Libertyville vs McHenry. McHenry started off the night with timed blocks that left Libertyville scrambling to pick up short and deep balls. Their front row blockers were connected throughout the match. Outside #18 Ella Boland was an asset in every rally. Between her blocks, tough hits, and consistent serves, she added many points to the board for the Warriors. Setters #3 Ella Jenkins and #27 Riley Ten Bruin were consistent with sets throughout the night. Even when sets were off, they put them high to give hitters enough time to adjust. Impressive back row plays came from their Libero #1 Briana Ricci and DS #14 Maddy Weber. Ricci adjusted well to opposing hitters and serves, keeping many balls alive in all three sets. Weber had several deep corner saves and a truly outstanding save off a teammate's shanked serve receive which inevitably led to a kill from #23 Mollie Hobson. Libertyville showed high energy and good communication throughout the night, no matter the score. Setter #12 Jaimie Marquardt kept the court moving with consistent set placements for her hitters. When the opportunity arose, she dumped or pushed the ball, forcing McHenry's players to adjust quickly. More often than not, she was successful in earning points for the Wildcats from these plays. When playing front row, she was not afraid to joust and showed a lot of strength against McHenry's hitters. Although this is her Freshman year, their Libero #19 Charlie Fleegle has earned the trust of her teammates. She takes the second ball with confidence and places it well for her outsides. Outside hitters #8 Stella Meyer and #17 Hannah Fleming were essential to Libertyville's gameplay. They both show consistency in their hitting, blocking, and passing, and helped lead the team through many tough rallies. Fleming had an impressive hit in the second set that came from a set placed several feet off the court. She adjusted quickly and angled for a cut shot. She was successful in getting a kill and point for her team. Middle hitter #23 Avery Maddux proved to be a tough blocker, even when going one-on-one with the opposing hitter. She added several points to the board with great front row attacks. Maddux was a hard Middle for McHenry to read. Although blockers timed themselves well against her jump, Maddox was good at reading their blocks and would wait on making contact until the blockers were already on their way down. McHenry won the first set with a score of 25-21. Libertyville won the second set with a score of 26-24. Libertyville won the third set with a score of 26-24 and earned the title of Regional Champions.

About the Interactive ScoreZone

The Interactive ScoreZone depends exclusively on reports submitted via the Internet by school personnel. Schools are not required to submit reports while the contest is in progress, but may do so if they wish. If your game is over and the score is not listed, most likely the responsible party from the host school hasn't gone online to report it. IHSA personnel do not track down missing scores on the day of the contest.
