LeRoy defeated Marquette 2-1 in a great pitchers’ duel that was scoreless after 7 innings. LeRoy’s Natalie Loy (2-4, 1 rbi) singled to center in the 8th to drive in Emily Mennenga for the go-ahead run, and Morgan Fleming scored right behind her after an error. Lindsey Kaufmann’s solo HR in the bottom of the 8th accounted for the Lady Crusaders’ run. Kaufmann reached base in all 4 PA (BB, HBP, 2B, HR) and made a spectacular diving catch in CF to end the 4th. LeRoy starter Lilly Long worked out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the first and allowed just 4 baserunners the rest of the game, finishing with 8 ip, 3 h, 1 r/1 er, 1 bb, and 11 K. Marquette pitcher Kaylee Killelea carried a perfect game through 5.2 innings and finished with a line of 8 ip, 6 h, 2 r/1 er, 1 bb (intentional), and 11 K.
