Manager's Comment: After a postponement due to inclement weather last Thursday, May 2nd, the Shabbona Lake Sectional took place today (Monday, May 6th) under more favorable conditions. Intermittent rain and tough fishing due to the muddy water did not deter the anglers. Overall, 26 teams fished in the Sectional. 17 teams weighed in a total of 47 bass for a combined weight of 95.55 pounds (avg. 2.03 lbs/bass). Taking 1st Place and their first ever Sectional championship was Batavia High School. Boat #2 from Batavia weighed in 5 fish for 11.05 pounds, and included Dylan Krol, Nick Wenzel, and Lizzy Fors, and was captained by Jeff Miller. Batavia is coached by Brian Drendel. Finishing in 2nd Place was St. Charles North, Boat #2, with 5 bass weighing 10.40 pounds. Their team included Hadyn Winter, Ryan Caprini, and Ryan Allamian, and was captained by Dave Fuerst. St. Charles is coached by Tim Pinks. Finishing in 3rd Place was Rochelle, Boat #1, with 5 bass weighing 8.70 pounds. Their team included Lucas Anderson and Zach Capes, was captained by team coach Curt Samo. Finishing in 4th Place was Shabbona (Indian Creek), Boat #2, with 5 bass weighing 8.40 pounds. Their team included Brooke Wackerlin, Natalie Fox, and Aidan Sawyer, and was captained by Eric Rausch. Indian Creek is coached by Eric Schrader. Big Bass = 4.65 lbs, DeKalb Boat #1, Cameron Kriese
