Winning coach: David Weber, Northbrook (Glenbrook North) "That was a great effort by us in the second half; I thought we really controlled the tempo of the game. We took away their threes, which is what really worked at and we got them in foul trouble. The big turning point in this game was when they had to sit some guys, then (Bobby) Frasor got a little tentative because he got a couple fouls."
"I thought offensively we did a great job. There were a couple of stretches where we got a little bit out of control, but overall we got some good looks. Jon (Scheyer) hit a couple big shots, hit a couple threes. We did what we've done all year and hit some free throws down the stretch."
"Our strategy was not to help out on penetration. We watched a lot of tape on them and their threes come from (Bobby) Frasor's penetration. It's similar to what we do, where they penetrate and then they kick it. We told Sean Wallis he couldn't leave No. 4 (Kevin Harrigan). Our thought process was to make Frasor finish in the lane."
"We had a lot of opportunities inside that we didn't finish in that situation off the boards. I think we're going to need to finish those if we're going to win tomorrow (Saturday)."
"They're (Brother Rice) very similar to us and I thought that was an advantage for us because we knew what they were trying to do and I thought Jon (Scheyer) could create a little bit more than their guy can."
"We do not want to spend a lot of time on the defensive end; we get a little impatient on the defensive end. We get a little lazy at times. From our sectional championship game to now, I feel pretty good when teams are playing fast against us because we have Jon (Scheyer)."

Hey, we're in Peoria'. We've fulfilled a dream that every kid that picks up a ball has, and that's to get down here and play in Peoria. They (Chicago, Brother Rice) have done something that no other Brother Rice team and no other Brother Rice player could do. I'm incredibly proud of our team, I think they're the toughest kids I've ever met, and we feel bad, but it's kind of hard to enjoy all that we've been through."
"I think we'll feel bad tonight and maybe tomorrow, eventually we'll start thinking about all the incredible things that have happened, not only this year, but over the past four years. I could not be prouder with my team, I could not be happier with my team. We fought every second of every game, we practiced hard, we prepared hard. We obviously didn't play our best tonight, but it actually doesn't even bother me. I can't have too many emotions at the same time and the only thing I'm feeling right now is pride. I think these guys are awesome. I think every senior has had an incredible four-year experience."
