 Notes & Quotes
Winning coach, Todd Parola, Mundelein (H.S.): "A key was jumping out early, getting the bats going and starting out wth an early lead."

"Clemente is a pretty exciting team, and they have some pretty good players. They're quick and aggressive. We thought a 5-0 lead would stifle some of that but they stayed aggressive and kept coming at us. They put good swings on it all the up and down the lineup."

"Mike (Nilles) settled down on the mound. He mixed it up a little bit after the second inning or so and that really helped."

"This is a tough situation for us. They're is a lot of pressure on us to win. Everybody expects it."

Losing coach, David Bain, Chicago (Clemente): "We really came out tight and dug ourselver a little hole. Our game is a pressure game and it's hard to pressure a team when you are five runs behind from the git go."

"That kid's (Clay Kovac) grand slam just killed us. It took all the wind out of our sails."

"We scheduled surburban teams this year because that's how we get better. We weren't afraid to play Mundelein because we've been facing teams like them. We really thought we would play them tougher."
