 Notes & Quotes
NOTES AND QUOTES

Winning coach, Derek Lindauer of Moline: "I’m just proud of the kids. They didn’t quit. They had a reason maybe to come over and rollover and not play. But they battled every step of the way. I’m proud of them, I really am.”

"Even though we didn’t get in to the championship game there still is something to play for. As a baseball program you want to come out and finish as high as you can.”

“Jay (Molina) had a shaky first but he did that in the regional and sectional. Once he gets settled down he awfully good. He does this all the time and gets off to a shaky start. But he settled down and did the job.”

“We’d liked to have been playing for the title tonight but there is nothing we can do about that. There are some quality teams out here and we are extremely happy to be here.”

Losing coach, Paul Belo of Palatine (Fremd): "It’s always an accomplishment to get (to the finals), and we’re proud to represent our school here. My kids stepped up (Friday) to get us a chance to get some hardware today. We did have some opportunities today to get ahead, but (Jay Molina) shot us down for four consecutive innings after our first inning explosion. To win you have to take advantage of those opportunities.”
