 Notes & Quotes
Winning coach, Les Asquini of St. Charles: "Jim Caine was very tough when he needed to be. I thought he threw well. It was his straight record 31st consecutive win, which I thought was really special.''

On Kyle Robinson - "I thought he came back well offensively after making an error.''

On Jim Caine - ``When he gets into jams or when we get him jams he gers us out. It was definitely the right choice to pitch him today. How can you not give him the ball.''

Jim Caine, winning pitcher for St. Charles - ``The first couple of innings I was nervous and excited. Everybody in the stands gets you too pumped up. I had a hard time establishing the curve and switched to a slider. I just went at them with evrything I had.''

Losing coach, Stan Lewis of Champaign (Centennial) : "I thought we did a pretty good job. After the first inning and the first couple of outs, I could feel everyone relax. We got guys on base, we just couldn't get the big hit. I thought an early run could have changed somethings, but you have to give St. Charles credit. I don't think the layoff hurt us, we just didn't hit. Caine came through when he had to. The seniors were tremendous. I thought we had a really, really good season. This has been a great experience for us."

Mike Quinlan, losing pitcher for Champaign (Centennial) - ``The extra day probably helped me. I made a couple of bad pitches that I'd like to have back. Yoy have to tip your hat to their pitcher, he came through in the clutch. This is a ballgame we could have won.''
