 Notes & Quotes
Winning coach,: Tom Pile of Edwardsville: "My kids have been working really hard. We hit the ball hard all day - right on the button – even the outs. When Matt (Evers) hit the grand slam it was pretty much over because they had to bring in second line pitching. Ben Hutton threw 97 pitches on Tuesday – so that is why he did not start. Jack Kaiser is a class act. I have learned a lot from him"

Losing coach,: Jack Kaiser of Oak Park (O.P.– River Forest) "We were going great guns for the first three innings then it was 'Katie Bar the Door.' They started to hit the ball and beatthe tar out of us.''

"There isn't much you can do when they hit the ball like they did. When they made outs early in the game they were hard hit outs.''

''We haven't hit the ball too well lately. We had hoped our pitching and defense would help us out but then they started to put the ball all over the park, and that was pretty much it.''
