Wilmington Cheerleaders Provide Unique GoPro Video Vantage Point of IHSA State Cheer

Alternate team members of the Wilmington High School cheerleading team took control of the IHSA GoPro camera to give fans an unprecedented vantage point of their school performing in the 2016 IHSA Cheerleading State Final prelims at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington on Friday, February 5, 2016.

The first person account lets viewers hear the spirit and support provided by teammates and coaches during the performance, not to mention feel every clap of their hands, from the coaching box just a few feet away from the performance floor.

As the team catches its breath in the tunnel in the closing moments of the video, there appears to be some disappointment on the faces of team members. The Wildcats weren’t prefect in their prelim performance, but they did finish second and went on to win the Small Class state championship 24 hours later. Watch it below:
