Wheaton Warrenville South kicker Jack Olsen (above middle) set a new single-game state record for field goals in a game on Friday, August 24, 2018, when the junior made eight field goals during a 26-0 victory over Metea Valley.

Olsen’s boots of 48, 38, 24, 44, 25, 44, 45 and 20 yards put him into the record books. He was 8-of-9 on the game, with his lone miss coming on a 52-yard try.

After making 3 of his 7 field goal attempts in 2017, Olsen bested the previous IHSA single-game record of five field goals, set by Bloomington Central Catholic’s Todd Kurz on in 1991.
