State Champion Maine West Girls Basketball Coach Derril Kipp Passes Away

On July 5, 2016, legendary Maine West girls basketball coach Derril Kipp passed away after battling pancreatic cancer. Kipp leaves behind an incredible legacy that includes coaching the 1987-88 Maine West squad (pictured above, Kipp far left) to the IHSA Class AA state title. Kipp's squads from 1987-1989 also established the state's longest winning streak in the sports history with 65 consecutive wins.
