The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Board of Directors met for their March meeting on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at the Pere Marquette in Peoria. The Board acted on two action items during the regularly scheduled meeting.

ACTION ITEMS
1. The Board approved a recommendation to approve the Global School Access Program, a program for international students, to participate in interscholastic competition at Arlington Heights (St. Viator).

2. The Board approved a recommendation to approve a schedule change for the 2018 IHSA Drama/Group Interpretation State Finals. The Peoria Civic Center allows for more than one group interpretation venue at a time which allowed a timing schedule to be different than the previous schedule posted in the terms and conditions.

APPEALS & ELIGIBILITY RULINGS
1. The Board sustained the Executive Director’s ruling on a student from Bismarck-Henning Rossville-Alvin Cooperative. The student was ruled ineligible for non-compliance with IHSA By-law 3.040 and its sub-sections.

2. The Board sustained the Executive Director’s ruling on a student from Macomb High School. The student was ruled ineligible for non-compliance with IHSA By-law 3.030.

3. The Board sustained the Executive Director’s ruling on a student from Decatur (MacArthur). The student was ruled ineligible for non-compliance with IHSA By-law 3.040 and its sub-sections.

DISCUSSION ITEMS
At each meeting of the Board of Directors, there are certain items the Board discusses, but upon which no action is taken. The following is a report of those items from the March 17, 2018, agenda:

1. The Board discussed the recommendations from an enrollment classification ad hoc committee, which included fixed enrollment classifications, that had met during the 2016-17 school term.
