The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) and MaxPreps, the online high school sports leader, have announced an expanded partnership agreement that will enable the IHSA to provide a customized sports information platform across all team sports for its member schools.

MaxPreps and the IHSA will offer a publishing platform across desktop, tablet and mobile that will streamline the process of managing sports information from hundreds of member schools and several thousand contests each month.

The expanded partnership, beginning in 2016-2017, enables box score information from all team sports published on MaxPreps.com to be automatically provided to the IHSA for use in managing various initiatives. MaxPreps will provide the IHSA with lives scores and final game results of regular-season varsity contests for all team sports. The IHSA will also use the regular-season scores submitted to MaxPreps to populate the Season Summary sheets used by coaches to seed regional and sectional tournaments. Teams will be required to enter scores into MaxPreps in order to accurately verify regular season results used to enable schools to participate in the IHSA post-season seeding process. MaxPreps will also offer a free team platform to all IHSA individual sports, meet-based sports, and activities for optional use.

"MaxPreps is honored to expand our partnership with the Illinois High School Association to cover thousands of additional teams and athletes,” said Andy Beal, president and founder of MaxPreps. “The IHSA is a leader in the effort to strengthen education based high school athletics and we are thrilled to provide an efficient and streamlined process to highlight all IHSA member schools.”

"We are excited to take the next step in our partnership with MaxPreps,” said IHSA Executive Director Craig Anderson. “Many of our coaches already utilize MaxPreps’ free services to highlight the accomplishments of their student-athletes and teams, and this expanded partnership will only further streamline their responsibilities during the season. It also allows us to provide more coverage of regular-season scores and schedules, which is a request we receive frequently from high school sports fans throughout Illinois.”

MaxPreps.com, is the nation's most visited site for high school sports coverage. MaxPreps has been on the prep sports scene since 2002 and has successfully partnered with 22 other high school state associations.
