IHSA March Board of Directors Meeting Recap

The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Board of Directors met for its regularly scheduled meeting at the State Farm Center in Champaign on Saturday, March 9, 2024, where the Board approved one action item.

ACTION ITEMS
1. The Board approved recommendation to a rolling extension agreement with the NFHS Network.


APPEALS & ELIGIBILITY RULINGS
The Board heard two eligibility rulings virtually on March 9, 2024:

1. The Board sustained the Executive Director’s ruling on a student from St. Laurence High School in Burbank. The student was granted lower-level eligibility until June 9, 2024, and was seeking full varsity eligibility.

2. The Board sustained the Executive Director’s ruling on a student from Alleman High School in Rock Island. The student was ruled ineligible for non-compliance with IHSA By-law 3.040.

At each meeting of the Board of Directors, there are certain items the Board discusses, but upon which no action was taken or action may not be required. The following is a report of those items from the March 9, 2024, agenda:

1. The Board discussed the 2024 NFHS Summer Meeting, which is scheduled for June 28-July 2, in Boston, Massachusetts.
