IHSA Board Hears Five Appeals

The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Board of Directors met virtually on December 15, 2023, to hold five appeal hearings. The results of those hearings are provided below:

1. The Board sustained the Executive Director’s ruling on a student from Academy High in Champaign. The student was ruled ineligible for non-compliance with IHSA By-law 3.032.4.

2. The Board sustained the Executive Director’s ruling on a student from ROWVA High School in Oneida. The student was seeking a ninth semester of eligibility via an exemption to IHSA Board Policy 10.

3. The Board sustained the Executive Director’s ruling on a student from Montini High School in Lombard. The student was ruled ineligible for non-compliance with IHSA By-law 3.045.

4. The Board sustained the Executive Director’s ruling on a wrestling coach from Marian Central Catholic in Woodstock. The coach was ruled ineligible to coach for the 2023-24 season due to violating IHSA by-law 3.070.

5. The Board sustained the Executive Director’s ruling on a student from Marian Central Catholic in Woodstock. The student was ruled permanently ineligible at Marian Central Catholic due to violating IHSA by-law 3.070.
