CheerSounds Named Official Music Partner of the IHSA

The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) is proud to announce a new partnership with CheerSounds, who will serve as the Official Music Partner of the IHSA. Through the partnership, CheerSounds will provide IHSA member school coaches turn-key resources to integrate music into their competitive performances.

“We are excited to welcome CheerSounds as an official partner of the IHSA,” said IHSA Executive Director Craig Anderson. “From pre-season camp through the IHSA State Championships, we know that CheerSounds' professionalism and expertise will be a welcome resource for our coaches every step of the way.”

CheerSounds’ software allows coaches to build their own licensed music without having prior knowledge about music editing or licensing. They can also utilize the services of CheerSounds’ team of producers and editors to create custom music or download a mix from the vast CheerSounds library.

“Music is a critical component to the success of our cheer and dance student-athletes,” said IHSA Assistant Executive Director Susie Knoblauch. “Navigating music copyright law has become increasingly difficult for coaches recently. CheerSounds not only gives them peace of mind, but it also provides them with the music they want at a reasonable price.”

The IHSA has offered a Cheerleading State Championship since 2006 and an IHSA Dance State Series followed in 2013. Cheerleading and dance saw 270 and 240 schools compete, respectively, during the 2019-20 school year.

“CheerSounds is thrilled to partner with IHSA to support cheerleading in the state of Illinois. Cheerleading builds character and confidence, as well as a penchant for leadership,” said Carmine Silano, owner/founder of CheerSounds. “It’s important to support cheerleading programs because today’s athletes are tomorrow’s leaders, and the lessons they learn while participating in cheerleading will undoubtedly help them to succeed at whatever they aspire to do in the future.”
