During the prelims of the 2014 IHSA Competitive Cheerleading State Finals, New Berlin’s squad suffered the tough fate of having its music skip during that portion of its routine. Rules designate that the squad must continue its performance in this circumstance. As the music was cut off, several cheer squads in the stands began to chant the count of the music to help New Berlin keeps its timing, which caused the chant to spread throughout U.S. Cellular Coliseum. Afterward, a Roxana High School cheerleader gave a shoutout to New Berlin on twitter on behalf of her squad.
