In another thriller at the Jacobs Sectional, Elgin won the championship title over Rockford Boylan 70 - 67. The Elgin Maroons were led by Armani Williams with 19 and Marcus Redburg and Jeremy Granger each scored 11. The Boylan Titans top three scorers were Zach Opheim with 18, Stephon Valentine with 15 and Phil Riggs with 14. Elgin advances to the DeKalb NIU Super Sectional where they will play the winner of the Barrington Sectional on Tuesday, March 11.
Three-Point Showdown Advancers: David Brown - Rockton Hononegah - 11 Jeremy Granger - Elgin - 11 Paul Tometich - Cary Grove - 11 and Ryan Smith - Elgin Larkin - 10 won in a shootout over Austin Peterson - St. Charles North and Rob Stupar - Dundee Crown
