2. Discussed the pre-game sportsmanship handshake between the competing teams at half court during the basketball tournaments. The feedback has been very positive from Administrators, Coaches and fans. The committee recommends the pre-game handshake occur during other state finals.

3. The Committee recommends a 10 minute Do What’s Right! presentation and discussion occur at every Town Meeting.  Every member school deals with Sportsmanship issues throughout the year and this is a great opportunity to exchange important information.

5. Announce the start of the Do What’s Right! poster contest in April.  All entries are due by May 22 with the winning posters chosen in July.

6. Create an area on the IHSA website for students to upload video highlights of good sportsmanship acts during the school year.

7. The Sportsperson of the Year contest will begin in April.  One student per division representing a registered conference school is eligible to win.

8. The Committee recommends allowing former Sportsmanship Committee members to serve or represent this group for future needs. This allows the current members to continue to use the experience and knowledge of former Committee members

9. The Committee praised the Central Suburban League’s Sportsmanship Rubric as an excellent tool to rate teams.  The Committee will ask the CSL’s permission to share the rubric with other conferences.
