Sample Letter for Various Student Groups (Pep Club, Band, etc)

As a member of the (name of group), you represent our school in a unique manner. Your group is looked at by other students as a leadership organization, one which helps set an example for the climate in our building year around.

As a part of this group, your actions set the tone for other members of our student body in attendance and many other spectators. Like other co-curricular activities, we must keep the educational value of athletic competition high. If we lose that focus, then these events are not worth sponsoring.

Our school has joined a statewide campaign to promote good sportsmanship called Add A. Tude Is For Everyone! The purpose of the program is to make everyone more aware of what is acceptable behavior on the part of all involved at our events.

Your actions are viewed by your friends and fans, opposing fans, the local community and the media. They will be remembered long after the game is played, and with more impact than the final score could every indicate. Good sportsmanship will show the most positive things about you and our school.

Please take the time to review the attached guidelines, stating the example we expect our student organizations to display as leaders of our school. We hope these guidelines will become an important part of your work throughout the upcoming season.
