Illinois High School Activities Foundation

What It Is

The Illinois High School Activities Foundation (IHSAF) is a non-for-profit corporation dedicated to recognizing academic and interscholastic achievements by high school students in Illinois. The Foundation is currently in the process of soliciting private and corporate contributions to help carry out the mission of the corporation. All contributions to the Illinois High School Activities Foundation are tax-deductible.

Across America millions of high school students participate in interscholastic competition each year. More than 350,000 young men and women represent their high schools in IHSA athletic and activity programs ranging from basketball to debate. Research over many years shows that students who participate in high school athletic or activity programs achieve higher grade point averages, miss fewer days of school, score higher on standardized tests, and are more self-confident.

How It Works

The Illinois High School Activities Foundation was established to help promote, encourage, and recognize academic and interscholastic achievements by the young people who participate in the interscholastic programs sponsored by IHSA. With the support of a variety of corporations, organizations, and individuals the Foundation has plans to:

Provide financial support for the IHSA scholarship recognition programs.
Provide financial assistance to underprivileged students who plan on attending a college or university.
Provide financial assistance for women and minorities who plan to enter the teaching and coaching profession.

IHSAF Annual Golf Outing

IHSAF Golf Outing will be held on June 10, 2008.

How You Can Make A Contribution

Cash — The most common gift is made by way of a check to the Illinois High School Activities Foundation.

Securities — Common stock or other securities are appropriate gifts to be transferred to the Illinois High School Activities Foundation.

Real Property — The Illinois High School Activities Foundation will receive gifts of real estate, including land, personal residences and commercial properties.

Corporate Matching Funds — By this method a company and its employees would share in enriching the programs of the Foundation.
