A total of 256 schools — 74 conference champions and 182 at-large entries — will qualify for the IHSA football playoffs. This list shows schools that have clinched a conference championship, schools that have clinched an at-large entry by winning at least 6 games, and schools that are still eligible for a playoff berth. The total number of games won by a team's opponents is used to break ties in determining playoff berths and seeding the playoffs.

Wins are the most important playoff selection criterion. Opponents' wins are used to break ties.
