Manager's Comment: Largest Bass - Nolan Turner, Rochelle, 3 lb 13 oz Today's sectional tournament at Shabbona Lake was a very tough competition. Despite the warm weather, the fish were still difficult to pattern and slow to catch. However, 11 teams out of the field still managed to weigh in fish, with four teams bringing in limits. Overall, 35 bass were weighed in. Taking 1st Place on the day was Rochelle Boat #1 coached by Curt Samo. The team's 12 pound limit was led by Nolan Turner's 3 lb 13 oz bass, which was the largest bass of the tournament. They caught their fish on an afternoon bite flipping shallow baits. Taking 2nd Place was St. Charles North Boat #2 coached by David Fuerst. St. Charles caught their 11 lb 14 oz limit by fishing Shaky Head rigs near the dam. Taking 3rd Place was St. Charles North Boat #1 coached by Timothy Pinks. St. Charles caught their 10 lb 12 oz limit by fishing soft plastics. Taking 4th Place was Marmion Academy Boat #2 coached by Joe Large. Marmion caught their 10 lb 11 oz limit by fishing crank baits in the weeds. Great job by all the students involved and special thanks to the Lakeside Bait Shop for their help with the tournament.
