QUOTES AND NOTES
Winning coach Dennis Rueter, Waterloo (Gibault)
``I thought we played awfully well and I was pleased with our defensive effort, especially in the first half. In the second half we had a few more problems but I still thought we did a creditable job defensively.''
``We thought coming into the game whoever's post player took control of the game inside would be the team that probably would come out on top. Our post players did a good job offensively and defensively and handled what they had to handle. We felt some pressure the last few weeks and we felt some pressure early in the game. U-High has been four years in a row and they feel pretty comfortable. Once the game got started and we hit the first few baskets their comfort level was gone and it was our team against their team.''
``I thought out intensity level was much better in this game than it has been in the last few weeks. And we did a much better job defensively. We handled the pressure pretty well since the first game of the regional. The pressure here is much different than the first game of regional. If you lose in that first game you have a bad season. The longer you go in the tournament the pressure becomes a little different.''
``We thought we could get the ball inside and as it turns we were able to be really effective. It wasn't surprising because we've had a few games like that this season.''

``I'm disappointed we lost but not disappointed with this team. They've played their hearts out this season when they easily could have thrown in the towel in the early going.''
``Defensively we didn't get it done but a lot of the credit has to go to them. They are an excellent team. We had trouble right from the start and everything seemed to get magnified the longer we got into the game. Again that's a credit to them.''
``These kids have been coming back all year. There was a time when they could have tossed in the towel when we were struggling early but they didn't. They kept coming back and we wound up in the Elite eight and I'm very proud of what these kids have accomplished.''
