Game 5 Notes and Quotes

Losing coach Cal Hubbard (Normal U-High)

``I’d like to congratulate Coach Bryant and his team, they played a heck of game. They played hard and kept after it’’

``We had trouble in a lot of different areas. we didn’t rebound as well as we have been lately and that was one of the big keys. We didn’t shoot the ball particularly well either and I’m sure Hall’s defnse had a lot to do with it.’’

``We’ll be one of just four teams still playing on the last day of the season. We don’t have a third or fourth place trophy so tonight will be a new experience for us. ‘’

``This has been a team that had one marquee player and he has played well all season. His presence has allowed our other kids a chance to grow during the season.’’.

Winning Coach Bryant(Hall Township)

“Our biggest concern was to cut down Jeremy Stanton’s penetration. We wanted to keep him to one side or the other and not let him get loose in the middle and to force him to shoot on the move.”

“This probably was the first game all year where we played hard for 32 minutes. We withstood their third quarter run then had a great fourth quarter.”

“Getting off to a great start was a real confidence builder when you’re playing the number one team in the state. After that our guys just kept going. They’re a real confident group anyway but sometimes they cross over the line (too cocky) .”

“The biggest thing that comes to my mind about this game is to thank our assistant coaches for coming up with a great game plan.”
