 Notes & Quotes

Winning coach, Frank Ganser, Tinley Park (Andrew): "This was a great ball game. We always seem to start swinging the bats when there were two outs. Matt (Maxwell) saved his best outing for the playoffs. He’s been pitching very well for us laately."

“We had big innings several times in the playoffs so scoring seven runs in the fourth was not unusual for us. Their pitcher (Ryan Schmidgall) was throwing well. Then we got a few swings going and started hitting the ball. Ryan McGuire is at the oral surgeon. Hopefully, he’ll be the starting pitcher (Saturday) tomorrow.”

Losing coach, Jim Corpus, Bartonville (Limestone): " Andrew’s got a really nice team. They played well defensively, third and short made some real nice plays, and they hit the ball pretty well, too. Their pitcher (Maxwell) threw real well and kept us off balance. We had one bad inning - we fell apart and it was kind of over after that.”

“It’s amazing to get here two years in a row. That’s saying a lot about our senior class. They are great kids and great students. It’s really unfortunate to go out like this. I guess it just wasn’t meant to be.
