Winning coach,: Frank Ganser of Andrew: "We put a lot of pressure on ourselves because of last year. We were tight. We can play better.'' "Offensively we swung the ball well but we still left too many people on base. Keith's arm got a little tight at the end because he had thrown 68 pitches and we thought that was a good time to take him out.'' ''I'm glad to be where we're at. Playing Lockport is what we want.'' Losing coach,: Randy Bretag of Ottawa " There were two keys to this game. We didn't get the key hits when the opportunities presented themselves and we had to play with onlt one day's rest. It's not an excuse but it was a factor in this game." ''I'm extremely proud of these kids. They've played hard all year and we made our first trip to state on the work these kids put out. This was our first trip but hopefully not our last. I think we showed we can play with the best. If we get a few breaks today we're playing Saturday.'' ''Harth had to pitch on Wednesday in the sectional game and that's the reason I pulled him when I did. I didn't want to ruin his arm with too many innings. Still he did a good job with not much rest.'' |
