FOX CHICAGO INTRODUCES FOXJOX.COM

You shoot it; we’ll share it.”

Chicago, April 27, 2007 – FOX Chicago is teaming up with area high schools to put together the most robust high school video website in the country.  FOXJOX.com will be the pre-eminent source for viewer-produced video coverage of high school athletics, arts, academic events and more.  Game highlights, winning plays, amazing shots, great dramatic or musical performances, and academic competitions are just some of the things to be showcased on FOXJOX.com.  And all of these will be shot and produced by the FOXJOX; students who provide video coverage of events at and around their schools.

The benefits for students and schools are many:

  • Each student and school will have their own listing within FOXJOX.com
  • Participating FOXJOX will be eligible for tours and clinics at the Fox Chicago studios
  • The best clip of the week will be featured on the Fox Chicago 9pm News with recognition for the student and the school.
  • Fox Chicago will produce an annual television special featuring the school year’s best clips in May 2008
  • An official IHSA scholarship will be awarded to the best clip submitted by a FOXJOX throughout the year.
  • Since FOXJOX.com is part of myfoxchicago.com, one of Chicagoland’s most popular websites, a wide audience will be exposed to the student’s productions.
  • FOXJOX.com will further benefit from heavy promotion on Fox Chicago, home of American Idol, House, 24, The World Series, NASCAR, the 2008 Superbowl, and TV’s longest running comedy – The Simpsons.

Best of all, for the 2007-2008 school year, FOXJOX.com will have cutting edge features including:

  • Drag and Drop Video Upload capabilities
  • Broadcast Quality Video Playback
  • Online Editing Suite
  • Advanced Search Functions
  • Easy Share capabilities
