Winter Bracket Drawing
The blind drawing that determines the state final pairings in bracketed team sports
was held at the IHSA Office on Wednesday, December 14, starting at approximately
10 am. This drawing covered the winter sports of girls basketball and boys basketball. Boys dual team wrestling pairings are determined by a set rotation.
Bryan Bloodworth, sports editor of the Bloomington Pantagraph,
made the
drawings. Traditionally, the pairings are made by ordering the 8 sites that feed into the
quarterfinals in alphabetical order and numbering them from 1 to 8. Then 8 numbered peas
are drawn from a bottle. The number on the first pea drawn represents the site whose
winner will occupy the first position on the quarterfinal bracket, and so on.

listed below will be updated after all the peas for each tournament are
drawn.
