2001-02 School Enrollments and Classifications Announced
As of September 30, 2000, there were 762 member schools -- 449 Class A, 243 Class AA and 70 Chicago Public League.
Cut-off for 2001-2002:
- 752 and below = Class A
- 753 and above = Class AA (including Chicago Public League Schools)
Cut-off for Boys Soccer for 2001-2002:
- 1322 and below = Class A
- 1323 and above = Class AA (including Chicago Public League Schools)
Cut-off for Girls Soccer Classification for 2001-2002 will be determined and released at a later date
The following schools will change classes:
- From Class A up to Class AA – Woodstock (Marian)
- From Class AA down to Class A – Chicago (Lourdes), Princeton
There are two variance schools for 2001-2002 classification. They are (with the schools involved):
- Kewanee (H.S.) -- Annawan, Galva, Geneseo (Darnall), Kewanee (Wethersfield), and Toulon (Stark County)
- Princeton -- LaMoille, Manlius (Bureau Valley), and Spring Valley (Hall)
Enrollment Cutoffs: These are the
year-by-year figures used to determine classification in the two-class system since the
inception of the 65-35 percent system:
1982-83 = 701
1983-84 = 694
1984-85 = 705
1985-86 = 706
1986-87 = 704
1987-88 = 666
1988-89 = 673
1989-90 = 666
1990-91 = 658
1991-92 = 645
1992-93 = 654
1993-94 = 655
1994-95 = 684
1995-96 = 710
1996-97 = 721
1997-98 = 740
1998-99 = 735
1999-2000 = 722
2000-01 = 734
2001-02 = 752
