Advancement (Teams)

The team scoring the most points at the Individual Regional will advance to the Team Sectional at sites determined by the IHSA. Four (4) Class A teams will compete in each of four Class A Sectionals. There will be no sectional champion in Class A. Four (4) teams will compete in each of the eight Class AA Sectionals. Each Class AA Sectional championship team and each Class A semifinal winner shall advance to the State Final Dual Team tournament. Eight (8) teams shall compete in each of the two classifications.

Dual Team Tournament

1) Sectional Dual Team semifinals will begin no later than 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday,
February 19, 2008 for Class AA and 6:30 p.m. for Class A. Immediately following the conclusion of the Class AA matches, the winners will wrestle the championship meet. In Class A, only the semifinals will be wrestled.
2) Following is the time schedule for the State Final Dual Meet tournament on
February 23, 2008:

7:00 a.m. -- Class AA Weigh-in
8:00 a.m. -- Class A Weigh-in
9:00 a.m. -- Class AA Quarterfinal Matches
11:00 a.m. -- Class A Quarterfinal Matches
2:00 p.m. -- Class A & AA Semi-Final Matches
6:00 p.m. -- Class A & AA Consolation and Championship Matches

State Final Tickets

Individual Season: $32.00 or $40.00. Reserved tickets will be sold in advance by mail or at the gate during the first day of the tournament.)
Individual Single-session: $8.00 child or $10.00 child; $8.00 or $10.00 high school student; $8.00 or $10.00 adult (will be sold only during the State Final Tournament).

Team Quarterfinal and Semifinal Session: $7.00 child, $7.00 high school student, $7.00 adult (will be sold only during the State Final Tournament)
State Final-Final Session: $7.00 child, $7.00 high school student; $7.00 adult (will be sold only during the State Final Tournament)

Scoring (Team)

Regionals: Class A and Class AA award in each weight class 14 points for first place, 10 points for second, 7 points for third place, and 4 points for fourth place.
Regional Bout Points (for team scoring): Also, award following points depending upon outcome of individual matches:
Fall = 2 pts.; Default = 2 pts.; Forfeit = 2 pts., Disqualification = 2 pts. Championship Bracket Win = 2 pts. (except in 1st place matches)
Consolation Bracket Win @ Regionals = 1 pt. (except in 3rd place matches)
Major Decision (margin of at least 8 but fewer than 14 points) = 1 pt.
Technical Fall (margin of 15 pts.) = 1 1/2 pts.
