PACK THE PLACE UNDERWAY IN ILLINOIS
Illinois' winter tradition -- Pack The Place -- will be conducted by more than 200 of the
Illinois High School Association's member schools this basketball season, according to
schedules provided by member schools to the IHSA Office. During this school year, Pack The
Place is fast becoming the event to attend during the winter sports season.
"We have seen an increased awareness of high school sports statewide, and that has
translated into many positives in terms of support for school teams," observed IHSA
Assistant Executive Director Jim Flynn. "Much of that awareness and support can be
attributed directly to the Pack The Place promotion. IHSA schools have always been
national leaders in the interscholastic program. Our member schools have done many great
things with Pack The Place. In fact, it is becoming a winter tradition."
Member schools which host a Pack the Place game and fill their gymnasium to 80 percent
of capacity or better receive the official IHSA Pack The Place banner. In addition to the
basketball games scheduled, the promotion will include Pack The Place dates by schools in
boys wrestling, boys swimming and girls bowling. |
