Pairings for the Class A and Class
AA sectional tournaments in the
2002 Boys Wrestling series were
made by blind draw in the IHSA
Office by members of the IHSA
administrative staff. The pairings
reflect the advancement of three
wrestlers from the correlated
regionals to the sectionals.
The pairings are on a weight by
weight basis for the opening round
bouts and the second round bouts
in the sectional. The winner of
the opening bout between a
regional third and regional second
place wrestler advances to meet a
regional winner in the second
round. Each correlated regional
within a sectional structure has
been assigned a letter (A, B, C,
D).
In the 103-pound class, the
second place wrestler at Regional
C meets the third place wrestler
from Regional D in the first bout,
with the winner meeting the first
place winner from Regional A in
the first second round bout, etc.,
throughout the weight class. The
key for each weight class applies
to all Class A and all Class AA
sectionals. |
