WINNING COACH DONNA DULLE FROM MT. PULASKI
Coach Dulle said, “Experience here at the tournament helped make them comfortable, and we hope for a different outcome this year.”
Mallory Clements said, “Even after being in the title game for three straight years, it is still exciting and special. It is different teams and players.”
LOSING COACH JAIME WALTON FROM ELGIN (ST. EDWARD)
Coach Walton said, “We adjusted our defense a little bit coming into this game with the hope of taking their setter out. We thought we would be able to shut her down but she is not their only player on the floor. There were a lot of other girls to worry about. One of our big problems was that we were really focusing on them instead of playing our own game. We were lacking the fun we always have when we play. We had some tough competition this morning but we will be ready for this afternoon’s match.”
Alyssa Groves said, “It was a very intense game. We were getting down on ourselves which didn’t help us play because we were down on the scoreboard, too.”
Ashley Lopez said, “We’re just going to go out this afternoon and have fun and get our funk back. We’ll be ready to play for the third place trophy this afternoon. We want to end the season with a win, for the seniors and for the fans.”
