Note for 2003: As noted a year ago, every effort is being made to keep the configuration of schools that was created two years ago together. Entries into the state series this year included 21 new in Class A Girls, 20 new in Class A Boys, 10 new in Class AA Girls and 9 new in Class AA Boys. The addition of these schools to the structure caused some movement of schools from their previous regional to a new one. Changes were kept to a minimum. When assigning schools to the regionals, effort is made to equalize the number of schools placed into the configuration. Regional and Sectional managers will be providing the IHSA Office with information regarding the meet they host, and that information will be placed on the web site as it becomes available. Personnel at member schools and fans of IHSA cross country are urged to check the web site frequently for this data.
