Last updated on October 22, 1999 at 8:00 a.m. REGIONALS Date: Saturday, October 23, 1999 Aurora (Central Catholic) Site of Meet: Oakhurst Forest Preserve Girls Meet Starts: 10:00 a.m. Boys Meet Starts: 10:45 a.m. Directions to Site: Take I-88 the East-West Tollway West to the Farnsworth Ave. South exit. Go South about 2.75 miles to Fifth Ave. (Stop sign - small church), turn left and go East about 1/2 mile, entrance to Oakhurst is on the left across from a church. Chicago (St. Benedict) Site of Meet: Lincoln Park Girls Meet Starts: 12:00 Noon Boys Meet Starts: 12:45 p.m. Directions to Site: Fullerton to Cannon Drive; Cannon Drive South past zoo. Eureka Site of Meet: Eureka Lake - Lower Park Girls Meet Starts: 10:00 a.m. Boys Meet Starts: 10:45 a.m. Directions to Site: Eureka Lake is located on the south side of Eureka off of Lake Road. The lower lake entrance is on the east side of the lake. Harvard Site of Meet: Rush Creek Conservation Area Girls Meet Starts: 10:00 a.m. Boys Meet Starts: 11:00 a.m. Directions to Site: In the south end of Harvard from Route 14 turn onto Maguire Rd., go 1 1/2 miles on Maguire Rd., turn South into Rush Creek Conservation Area. Macomb Site of Meet: Spring Lake Park Girls Meet Starts: 11:00 a.m. Boys Meet Starts: 11:45 a.m. Directions to Site: Spring Lake is located Northwest of Macomb. Approximately 1 mile north of Macomb on Route 67 turn west on N 1500 Street and travel 1.9 miles to the entrance of Spring Lake. Follow the road to the lake and turn right. Take the road to the right and follow it all the way to the back of the park. You will come to a large field on your right. This is the start and finish area. Buses will park just south or east of the turn around drive. Cars may park anywhere else as long as they stay out of the field. Maple Park (Kaneland) Site of Meet: Elburn Woods, Elburn IL Girls Meet Starts: 1:00 p.m. Boys Meet Starts: 1:45 p.m. Directions to Site: Elburn Woods is located on Route 38, 1 mile west of Route 47, just west of Elburn. Nashville Site of Meet: Nashville High School Football Field Girls Meet Starts: 11:45 a.m. Boys Meet Starts: 11:00 a.m. Directions to Site: Nashville High School is located on Route 127, one mile south of Route 15/127 intersection. Nashville High School Football Field adjoins the north section of the high school. Norris City (N.C.-Omaha-Enfield) Site of Meet: Norris City-Omaha Enfield High School Campus Girls Meet Starts: 10:30 a.m. Boys Meet Starts: 11:00 a.m. Directions to Site: Meet will be held directly behind gymnasium. Paxton (P.-Buckley Loda) Site of Meet: Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School Girls Meet Starts: 10:00 a.m. Boys Meet Starts: 10:45 a.m. Directions to Site: Route 9 to Cherry Street (Hardees). Turn North at the 2nd Stop sign, turn left. The high school is clearly visible from that point. Petersburg (PORTA) Site of Meet: Porta Junior/Senior High Girls Meet Starts: 10:00 a.m. Boys Meet Starts: 10:30 a.m. Directions to Site: From Route 97: Turn west on Sheriden, go 1/2 mile on Sheriden then turn right at Porta High School sign. Robinson Site of Meet: Nuttall Middle School Girls Meet Starts: 10:00 a.m. Boys Meet Starts: 10:45 a.m. Directions to Site: 1 block west of Robinson High School. St. Joseph (S.J.-Ogden) Site of Meet: Kickapoo State Park Girls Meet Starts: 10:45 a.m. Boys Meet Starts: 10:00 a.m. Directions to Site: I-74 to Oakwood Exit; Take Oakwood exit North, continue 1 mile to first intersection; at park sign, turn right (east) and continue 2 miles into park. Stanford (Olympia) Site of Meet: Olympia High School Girls Meet Starts: 1:30 p.m. Boys Meet Starts: 2:00 p.m. Directions to Site: I-55 to Exit 154 (Shirley) take blacktop to school. From Northwest: IL 122 to Minier South to Olympia Road; From South: IL 121 to US 136 east to Minier blacktop north to Olympia Road east to the school Sullivan Site of Meet: Tabor Park Girls Meet Starts: 2:00 p.m. Boys Meet Starts: 2:45 p.m. Directions to Site: Take Rt. 121 to Worth St., turn North on Worth St., go 4 blocks. Tabor Park is located on right side of Worth St. Taylor Ridge (Rockridge) Site of Meet: Rockridge High School Girls Meet Starts: 2:00 p.m. Boys Meet Starts: 2:40 p.m. Directions to Site: The race is at Rockridge High School located in Edington, Illinois 5 miles west of Taylor Ridge along IL Route 192. Enter the campus from the north off Rt. 192 and park in the gravel lot near the bus barn. Trenton (Wesclin) Site of Meet: Wesclin High School Girls Meet Starts: 1:00 p.m. Boys Meet Starts: 1:30 p.m. Directions to Site: Take Route 50 or 161 to Route 160. School is located 2 1/2 miles north of New Baden. 2 1/2 miles south of Trenton on Route 160. SECTIONALS Date: Saturday, October 30, 1999 Effingham (St. Anthony) Site of Meet: Evergreen Hollow Park Girls Meet Starts: 11:00 a.m. Boys Meet Starts: 12:00 p.m. Directions to Site: 1) From I-57/70 heading south. Exit Highway 45 (Sigel Exit) turn right on Evergreen Drive, park on right hand side of road. 2) From 57/70 North exit 2nd exit (Effingham Exit). Evergreen drive straight off exit, park will be on left. Elmwood Site of Meet: Maple Lane Country Club, Elmwood Girls Meet Starts: 10:30 a.m. Boys Meet Starts: 11:15 a.m. Directions to Site: Route 78 North of Elmwood on the east side of the road. Herscher Site of Meet: Kankakee Community, River Road, Kankakee Girls Meet Starts: 1:00 p.m. Boys Meet Starts: 1:30 p.m. Directions to Site: Route 45/52 South out of Kankakee or North off I-57 (Exit 308) to River Road, West on River Road Lisle (Sr.) Site of Meet: Lisle Community Park, 1800 Short Street Girls Meet Starts: 10:00 a.m. Boys Meet Starts: 10:45 a.m. Directions to Site: Take I-88 West to Route 53. I-53 South to Short Street. Right on Short Street to the course. |
