| 1944 | IHSA sponsors first "postal" bowling tournament for girls. |
| 1969 | IHSA approves interscholastic competition in girls bowling. |
| 1973 | First IHSA girls bowling tournament held at Town and Country Bowl in Peoria. |
| 1975 | Last "postal" bowling tournament conducted; state final meet changed from a dual format to an open meet format; Dixon wins championship with a team of four boys and one girl, prompting change in IHSA by-laws prohibiting boys from playing on girls' teams. |
| 1980 | First individual competition held at state final tournament. |
| 1993 | Tournament moves to present site, Cherry Bowl Lanes in Rockford. |
