The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) and Comcast SportsNet Chicago (CSN) have jointly announced that the “2011 IHSA Football Playoff Pairing Release Show” will air live on Comcast SportsNet PLUS (CSN+) on Saturday, October 22 from 8:00 P.M.—10:00 PM. The two-hour program will be the first time that the postseason gridiron brackets are revealed, as 256 qualifying teams across eight classes discover their first round opponents.

Comcast Cable and RCN viewers in the Chicago market can watch this CSN+ program on CLTV. For all other distributors/affiliates carrying Comcast SportsNet Chicago on their systems, the pairings show will be made available on CSN+. Viewers are urged to visit CSNChicago.com or IHSA.org for exact channel location information in their area.

“We are incredibly excited to be able to team up with Comcast SportsNet Chicago,” said IHSA Executive Director Marty Hickman. “It has always seemed to us like a relationship that would be a natural fit, because so many sports fans throughout Illinois already flock to Comcast SportsNet for games, news and programming.”

“When you combine the level of athleticism, the impact on local communities, and the rich history of prep football in the state of Illinois, we couldn’t be more pleased to produce this much-anticipated, two-hour IHSA programming event,” added Phil Bedella, VP/GM of Comcast SportsNet Chicago. “Once again, we urge fans to visit CSNChicago.com or IHSA.org to find out the exact CSN+ channel location in their area.”

The “2011 IHSA Football Playoff Pairing Release Show” will be hosted by Comcast SportsNet’s Sarah Kustok and longtime IHSA TV Network personality Dave Bernhard. The show will feature a slew of guests, including coaches and media from across the state. Plus - interviews, analysis, highlights and feature segments from all over Illinois will be included in the telecast, which will be produced out of CSN’s Chicago studios.

The IHSA will release information on viewer channel information for markets that do not receive CSN in the coming days.
