South Beloit, IL: On Jan 12th, 2016 Nick Sommer (16) , a sophomore on the Hononegah Boy’s Bowling Team, helped lead his team to an undefeated conference bowling season and in the process ended up setting a new local conference and national scoring record. The final conference match of the season took place at Viking Lanes in South Beloit, IL where Nick and his teammates defeated the Vikings from Rockford Guilford H.S. to cap an undefeated conference season and claim the conference championship.

The previous local NIC-10 Conference scoring average was 240.14 held by Adam Czerniewski, a member of the Rockford Boylan H.S. team during the 2008/9 season. The previous National record was held by Team USA member Kameron Doyle of Brentwood, Tennessee who recorded a High School match average of 250.8 during the 2013/14 high school season.

Nick Sommer’s record setting bowling average was from the Northern Illinois Conference (NIC-10) matches from Nov. 30th, 2015 to Jan. 12th, 2016. During his record setting run, Nick recorded high games of a 299 & 300 and two 800 series (814 & 824).
