The 2017 IHSA Class 2A & Class 3A Girls Soccer State Finals return to Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium on the campus of North Central College in Naperville on Friday and Saturday, June 2-3.

All eight matches this weekend will be broadcast live by the NFHS Network on www.IHSA.tv by presenting sponsor Country Financial and rebroadcast on Comcast SportsNet Chicago beginning on June 10 (2A) and June 12 (3A) (see right sidebar for more details).

A brief synopsis and individual team stat leaders from each qualifying team are available below & a full weekend schedule is located on the righthand sidebar:

CLASS 2A

LEMONT INDIANS (20-1-4)

The Indians odd state streak continues, as the team has now qualified under head coach Rick Prangen every odd year since 2009. Lemont hasn’t lost since its season-opener and hopes to bring home its first state championship in program history.
Goals: 30-Mairead Ruane
Assists: 15-Mairead Ruane
Goalkeeper: Michelle Jerantowski (8 goals allowed, .36 GAA, 34 saves)

WHEATON ACADEMY WARRIORS (20-5-0)
Wheaton Academy has a new class and a new coach in 2017, but the 2016 Class 1A state champs still have their championship pedigree. New head coach Jeff Brooke has navigated his club to back-to-back one-goal wins in the Sectional final and Super-Sectional en route to trying to go back-to-back in different classes.
Goals: 29-Gretchen Pearson
Assists: 24-Erin Teevers
Goalkeeper: Chrislyn Herring (9 goals allowed) & Marta Oster (10 GAA)

BURLINGTON CENTRAL ROCKETS (24-2-2)
Third-year head coach Jessica Arneson has quickly elevated the Rockets to one of the top programs in the class. Burlington Central’s first state final trip was built on solid defense, as the Rockets have allowed just three goals in five State Series matches.
Goals: 21-Megan Majewski
Assists: 24-Anna McMahon
Goalkeeper: Erin Rafferty (66 saves)

TRIAD KNIGHTS (20-6-0)
Triad makes its first state final trip under fourth-year head coach Matt Bettlach, as well as the first since the program’s lone state title in 2011. The Knights defense has been stifling in 2017, shutting out 19 opponents, while allowing one goal or less in 23 of its 26 matches.
Goals: 14-Katie Rogers
Assists: 11-Meaghan Smith
Goalkeeper: Mercedes King (6 goals allowed, .24 GAA, 75 saves)

CLASS 3A

NEW TRIER TREVIANS (23-2-1)
Can anyone end New Trier’s state title reign? The answer has been “no” since 2014 for the the three-time defending champs who have won all six of the program’s titles under head coach Jim Burnside. One of the Trevians two losses this season came to Barrington, a potential state championship opponent.
Goals: 19-Sydney Parker
Assists: 17-Avery Schuldt
Goalkeeper: Katy Symanietz (8 goals allowed, .38 GAA)

COLLINSVILLE KAHOKS (19-6-1)
The Kahoks are making their third consecutive state final trip and have a chance for payback in the semifinals, as Collinsville fell to New Trier 4-0 in last year’s state title match. Head coach Clay Smith’s squad hasn’t lost to an opponent from an Illinois since March.
Goals: 21-Alynnah O’Leary
Assists: 14-Andrea Frerker
Goalkeeper: Morgan Lerch (30 goals allowed, 1.11 GAA, 96 saves)

DOWNERS GROVE NORTH TROJANS (20-2-2)
Hall of Fame coach Brian Papa continues to work his magic. After a storied career at Lincoln-Way and LW-East, Papa guides Downers Grove North to its first state final appearance in his first year at the helm. The Trojans have a defense that keeps them in matches, as they have allowed just one postseason goal.
Goals: 13-Abby Swanson
Assists: 18-Abby Swanson
Goalkeeper: Grace Stevenson (15 goals allowed, .65 GAA, 143 saves)

BARRINGTON FILLIES (26-1-0)
After placing third in 2013 and 2015, Barrington coach Ryan Stengren hopes to deliver the program its first state title. The Fillies boast a trio of double-digit scorers on offense, and have allowed just six goals this entire season en route to 22 shutouts.
Goals: 17-Anna Brodjian & Sophia Spinell
Assists: 25-Sophia Spinell
Goalkeeper: Samantha Schmitz (6 goals allowed, .24 GAA)
