Long-time Peoria Journal Star Sports Editor Kirk Wessler (above left) will be inducted into the United States Basketball Writers Association Hall of Fame as a part of the festivities at the 2018 NCAA Final Four.

While he is being honored for his work covering collegiate basketball in the newspaper, Wessler has also been a fixture covering the IHSA Boys Basketball State Finals throughout his career, in addition to officiating the sport at the high school level since 2009.
