Each year, the IHSA and presenting sponsor Caterpillar honor 26 of the most well-rounded high school students in the state of Illinois. In order to be nominated for this honor, individuals must possess a 3.5 grade point average and participate in at least two IHSA sports and activities. Caterpillar and the IHSA produce a video interview with each winner that is played during the annual All-State Academic Team banquet held each April in Bloomington.
